Product: Natural Green Juice, Vegetable Juice, Pineapple Juice and Carrot Mango Juice .

I made these products because... whilst growing up, my mom pretty much taught me to live a healthy lifestyle. When I was pregnant with my first son I had a lot of struggles because, for one, I was anaemic so I had to change my diet completely. That’s when I started juicing and reducing my daily intake of sugar. I went to live in Barbados and realised there were no sugar-free juices on the market. I started to make and sell the juices there, but I eventually came home and saw the need for sugar-free juices here, too! I knew that there were others like me in search of a healthy alternative. I met Ambassador Sharon Saunders, who listened to my challenges and gave sound advice on how to move forward.

So I took the necessary steps to make sure I filled the void for healthy juices on the market.

My major challenge is... sourcing raw materials, especially when fruits or vegetables are out of season; it poses major challenges for me to produce certain flavours.

The issue remains, and managing the raw material inventory is... not easy, but I just keep my checks and balances the best way possible so there won’t be much lost in revenue.

The products became available to the public in... October of 2015.

The products are available at... Lee’s Food Fair Red Hills Road, Lee’s Boulevard Shopping Centre, Pizza Please and Ali’s Roti Shop.

The response to the products has been...overwhelming! It has surpassed my expectations!

Our core customers are... diabetics and the health-conscious.

I plan to grow the business to become... a force to be reckoned with. I want to be the giant who stands out. My dream is to surpass Tru-Juice or at least stand with them at the top of the ladder!

My first breakthrough came when... I found out my issues at pregnancy and I decided to make the bold step to fight for that healthy lifestyle I believed in, even whilst fighting for those persons who don’t have the opportunity to do so.

Jamaicans should support my products because... they are 100 per cent Jamaican and 100 per cent natural with no artificial products, flavouring or artificial preservatives. It’s about promoting a healthy lifestyle. We need to realise that there is nothing more important than looking after our health. As the icing on the cake, so to speak, I provide excellent customer service.

My products are successful because... I provide quality products because I love what I do and I am very passionate about it. Also, my customers are very important to me, so customer service is a priority at all times. I provide the best service I can.

If I knew then what I know now...

Certain decisions I made I wouldn’t have and my business would be more successful than it is at this point. But, as they say, every hurdle comes with an important lesson. I take my mistakes in stride and move on gracefully.
